Super Size Me

In the documentary Super Size Me, Morgan Spurlock goes on a 30 day McDonalds binge, eating only McDonalds. He does this to see first hand what the effects of McDonalds food is on the body, and if is truly one of the leading causes of obesity in the world.

Me personally, i could never eat just McDonalds for a whole 30 days. I would get sick of the same food very quickly. I also wouldnt want to risk harming my body with the processed food and other harmful substances that are in McDonalds food.

I think that McDonalds, and all fast food are a big cause of obesity in the world, but i also think that it is partially the peoples fault because they should know what this food can do to them, and they are making the choice to eat it. These companies are just trying to survive and create a product that people enjoy, and if people like it they are going to eat it.

What do you think about the obesity and fast food debate? Is it the companies fault? Or is it the peoples fault? Also would you ever do what Morgan Spurlock did and eat that much McDonalds?

  1. Personally I think that it's mostly the people to blame for the obesity problem. No one is making the people eat the food. Since it’s their choice to eat the food, they should be blamed not the companies making the fast food. The people making the food should not be blamed because some people can't exercise responsibility.

I don't think that I could ever eat McDonalds for a month like Morgan Spurlock did. After one meal from McDonalds I feel ill, so I doubt I could ever last a month.

  2. I agree with Hunter, no one is putting a gun to their heads to make them eat Mcdonalds. I think if they have enough money to visit Mcdonalds twice or three times a week and also have the money to buy diet pills, shakes and bar, they obviously have enough to buy healthier foods at their local grocery store. I know that i could never last a month eating Mcdonalds everyday either, I feel like they put some kind of artificial chemicals in their food to make it addictive.

  3. I believe that obesity isnt one or the other's fault. Fast food companies have families that they are trying to feed. They were smart enough to create multi million dollar resturants. It just so happens that the food that they sell appeals to so many people. Because of that, they create more food items that are tastier, although they may be higer in fat content. They arent trying to cause obesity, but instead trying to make the most money. The customer that chooses the fast food has common sense. They can choose whether or not they want to eat a certain food. Another thing however, that my mother tells me, is that some of her patients do not have enough money to afford the healthy foods so they turn to fast food because it's cheap and fast. I personally would not eat McDonalds every single day alone, but I do enjoy McDonalds.
