Which is the best for advertising? Logos, Ethos, or Pathos?

Here is a video explaining Logos, Ethos, and Pathos.

I think ethos is the best for advertising. In most commercials ethos is the one that is used the most. It really gets the people to relate to the advertisement. When the ad is able to connect to the person, it's more likely that they will buy the product. Another piece of evidence that supports the claim that ethos is the best for advertising is that most companies use it nearly exclusively. This is evidence because they spend millions a year finding the best way to get the audience to look into what they're selling.

  1. I think that a combination of all ethos pathos and logos is best for advertising because that way a critic of the ad can say that it did not miss a point. By using ethos, you create trust, and people can know that you are a legitimate company because the ad shows you are credible. Logos uses logic to get a point across. Someone who looks for facts and data in getting a point across will aoppreciate the use of logos in the ad. Pathos is a path many companies seem to take nowadays, to appeal to kids watching tv and others that enjoy humor. I think that a combo of all of these creates the best ad because it covers all three points and can silence critics about ads.

  2. To me, Pathos is best for advertising. With pathos advertisers can make an audience feel sad, happy, scared, mad, or any other emotion they would like. Most of the funny commercials that we all like are using pathos to try to either make us think they're a better company because we can relate or some make us feel sad, or even cry, like the commercials about abused animals in animal shelters. That is a very huge pathos commercial. They play very sad music in the background and show beaten and starving dogs and cats in the background. They throw in a little logos a few times to let people know the statistics about how many dogs and cats need home and are abused per year. I personally think that if a commercial has a lot of pathos and a few bits of logos in it, then they are a successful commercial in bringing people in to buy their product.
