Super Size Me

In the documentary Super Size Me, Morgan Spurlock goes on a 30 day McDonalds binge, eating only McDonalds. He does this to see first hand what the effects of McDonalds food is on the body, and if is truly one of the leading causes of obesity in the world.

Me personally, i could never eat just McDonalds for a whole 30 days. I would get sick of the same food very quickly. I also wouldnt want to risk harming my body with the processed food and other harmful substances that are in McDonalds food.

I think that McDonalds, and all fast food are a big cause of obesity in the world, but i also think that it is partially the peoples fault because they should know what this food can do to them, and they are making the choice to eat it. These companies are just trying to survive and create a product that people enjoy, and if people like it they are going to eat it.

What do you think about the obesity and fast food debate? Is it the companies fault? Or is it the peoples fault? Also would you ever do what Morgan Spurlock did and eat that much McDonalds?

Thoughts on "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"

So far "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" seems like a very interesting book. What I find interesting is that it's told through the mind of a schizophrenic. The thoughts that go through people's heads while they have this condition are things that most people couldn't even imagine. In order to make Bromden's schizophrenia seem more realistic the author was under the mind altering drug LSD while writing the book. A question I have is: will Chief Bromden ever leave the ward, or will he never be cured?

Overall, whats your favorite topic that we did in senior writing so far?

Which is the best for advertising? Logos, Ethos, or Pathos?

Here is a video explaining Logos, Ethos, and Pathos.

I think ethos is the best for advertising. In most commercials ethos is the one that is used the most. It really gets the people to relate to the advertisement. When the ad is able to connect to the person, it's more likely that they will buy the product. Another piece of evidence that supports the claim that ethos is the best for advertising is that most companies use it nearly exclusively. This is evidence because they spend millions a year finding the best way to get the audience to look into what they're selling.

Advertising

In this day and age, advertising is a big part of the world. Each company wants to get the word out that they are around and can offer what people are looing for. People come across hundereds of ads each day, sometimes not even knowing it. They can be TV ads, posters, or ads on the internet. All just to help sell their product or help their company grow.

Each advertising group has to discover the codes of people to help their ads be effective. According to Clotaire Rapaille there are certain codes that companies must figure out in order to create an ad that helps their company. I think that he is right in saying these codes are necessary in making an effective ad.
What are your thoughts on Rapaille and what are some examples of good ads that you have seen?
