On Native Soil Reaction
On Native Soil did a very good job depicting the events of September 11th, 2001. The film provided very good evidence on how these attacks against our nation could have been prevented. The evidence showed the many warning signs that were ignored. The music during the very emotional scenes of the planes crashing and the chaos down below the towers was very good because it gave the events a certain emotion that really depicted the events and captivated the moods of the people on that day. The people that were interviewed that either experienced the tragedy first hand, or loved ones of the people that were lost, gave viewers of the documentary a real sense of the damage that was done. I thought that this film was very good and informative of the events on this day. It provided good evidence of how the goverment failed to stop this, and the overall damage that was done, to both families and the country as a whole.

I agree that this attack could have been either prevented or the country could have been better prepared for it. With all of the evidnece that they showed about our country's faults, like allowing people from other countries to come into America without filling in all info on applications, allowing suspicious middle easterns to take aviation classes in America, and various phone calls and/or threats known about that were played at the comission meeting, alot could have been prevented or we could have been prepared. I think that although I believe that the country didnt know about what was going to happen, clues were given and nobody did anything about it. I believe that now though, we have no choice but not to ignore any threats and the recent high security is worth it.
ReplyDeleteThe movie did show how the attacks on the World Trade Center could have been prevented. It provided lots of evidence as to why the attacks could have been prevented: such as the report that Osama Bin Laden planed on making an attack on United States soil. The terrorist attack has deeply affected the way the US deals with airport security. After the attack the security at airports has increased substantially. I feel that the US is doing the right thing with increased security because if there was another terrorist attack via airplanes the outcome would be catastrophic.
ReplyDeleteThe 9/11 attack was a tragic day for us Americans, I also agree that the movie did show good deatiled evidence that Osama Bin Laden planned on making his move months before the attack on the World Trade Center. I feel that years after the 9/11 attack, some people are profiling or sterotyping people who have a middle eastern descent or people who have a Ismalic religion in a negative way especially in airports. The US are doing the right thing by making their security more stricter but it can affect people in a positive way and a negative way.
